Peter and Linda bought off plan, and so were able to divide up the internal living areas to their own design. They plumped for open space. "Here we could be self-indulgent," says Peter. "We are used to living in towns like London and New York where space is at a premium, so we went for open-plan with only arches as the visual divide." The house has been designed with the view in mind: there are large picture windows on all sides to bring the outside into the room. The arched windows are particularly spectacular. She is a New Yorker who has spent a lot of time in California and Florida. Peter is an Englishman with Italy and Spain in his heart. Their home reflects the two nationalities.
